The holidays can be beautiful.
But they can also feel really freaking hard.
I still remember one December. I was rounding on a newborn.
The bassinet alone broke me.
We had just gone through another failed IVF cycle.
Everything felt so raw — and the holiday cheer all around me felt miles away from where I actually was.
So if this season feels heavy for you, too — I want you to know:
You’re not the only one.
What Women Physician Really Want
I recently asked women on Instagram what they most wanted to reclaim this season.
The top answer?
“My inner spark.”
That stopped me in my tracks.
Because sometimes the bravest thing you can do in a season like this isn’t muscling through.
It’s not pasting on the smile or just being "fine" all the time.
It’s making space for what you’re actually carrying — and gently asking:
What might help my spark feel even 1% closer today?
A Few Gentle Spark Starters
✨ A warm mug of something that smells like comfort ✨ A playlist that knows exactly what you need ✨ A walk with zero destination and no medical podcast playing ✨ A friend who will sit in the silence with you ✨ A journal prompt that starts: “What I need more than anything right now is…”
These are not solutions. They’re tiny lights. And sometimes that’s enough.

Want to share a spark?
If there’s something that brings you even one flicker of joy this time of year — a recipe, a song, a memory, a moment — I’d love to hear it.
And if you’re not up for sharing?
That’s okay, too. This is a space for you to just be — no fixing, no cheerleading.
If you’ve been holding your breath to just get through the season…
WPC is your space to exhale.
No masks. No pretending. Just real talk, real support, and a circle of women who get it.
Let’s make room for your full humanity — not just your productivity.
